Plasmodium, the world’s most lethal parasite, causes malaria. The parasite enters the
bloodstream through a mosquito bite, hiding in the human liver before invading red blood
cells. Ultimately, millions of infected blood cells explode at once, causing fever and death
in 3 million people a year worldwide.

-- State one reason why Plasmodium is considered a parasite of humans. [1]
-- State one negative impact on humans when the use of pesticides for mosquitoes is decreased. [1]
-- If a large quantity of herbicide, a chemical that is designed to kill weeds, were accidentally spilled into
a large lake, it could endanger all the organisms living in the lake. State one way the effects of killing
the weeds in the lake could be destructive to populations of fish and other animals.

it is a parasite for humans because it remains dormant in the carrier organism which in this case is the mosquito.
When the pesticides use for mosquito is decreased, the mosquito population increases which exposes the human population to the risk of being infected by plasmodium.
herbicides are the chemicals that are designed to kill the unwanted herbs. these chemicals contain harmful elements that can cause the other aquatic life to die as well. one effect of the herbicide is that it deprives the water of oxygen which is essential for the fish and other animals living the lake.
