Kinetic energy
Explanation:
The windmill's blades moving by blowing wind represents kinetic energy.
Kinetic energy is the energy due to the motion of the particles of a medium. It is simply energy due to motion.
Energy is the ability to do work. It is of two types:
- Kinetic energy
- Potential energy
Potential energy is the energy at rest.
Wind energy is harnessed in moving the blades of a mill. An energy transformation from wind/tidal/wave energy to mechanical energy occurs here.
Wind, wave and tidal energy causes a disturbance in air particles which then transferred on the blades of the mill and it in turn rotates them.
The blades of the mill are carefully designed to provide the maximum rotation with little amount of disturbance on them.
When wave, wind and tidal energy collides with the blade, the potential energy of the blades initially at rest is transformed to kinetic energy in the motion by the rotating blades about a fixed axis. This is channeled to drive turbines in power stations where electricity is eventually produced.
The mechanical energy produced by the rotating mill is a form of kinetic energy. Both energy forms are due to motion of objects through which work can be done.

Answer:
Kinetic energy
Explanation:
The windmill’s blade was in a state of rest. Any object in a state of rest possesses potential energy which is given as mgh. The wind however blows and the blades move.
The wind helps in the conversion of the potential energy at rest to kinetic energy when in motion. The kinetic energy is given as 1/2* mass * the square of the velocity.
