Choose the best answer to the following question.

The person who decides what should happen to a criminal, after a proper trial and due process in which he can defend himself is: el juez.

How is the Fate of a Defendant decided?

When a person is accused of a crime, he or she is brought to trial in which the person hires a lawyer or obtains one ex officio and in front of a jury and a judge defends himself, while a prosecuting party shows evidence of his guilt.

After the trial, the jury issues its judgment and the judge, or "el juez" in Spanish, is the one who issues the official judgment, either to find you guilty or not guilty.
