The Ministry of Love is a security and repression entity, using fear to create loyalty.

The Ministry of Peace acts as the armed element of the government, looking for balance not to win wars, but sustain them.  

The Ministry of Plenty is in charge of the economy, overseeing food, supply and goods restriction.

The Ministry of Truth acts as a propaganda organization, in charge of manipulating all historical information.

The author George Orwell created those names intentionally as a criticism exercise.
