Lobes of the Brain. The four lobes of the brain are the frontal, parietal, temporal, and occipital lobes (Figure 2). The frontal lobe is located in the forward part of the brain, extending back to a fissure known as the central sulcus. The frontal lobe is involved in reasoning, motor control, emotion, and language.

Four lobes of the cerebral cortex are

  • Frontal lobe
  • parietal lobe
  • Temporal lobe
  • Temporal lobel

Explanation:

Frontal lobe:

  • It is located near the fore head.
  • It helps in maintaining motivation and memory .
  • The frontal lobe is divided into two lobes,the muscles of right side is controlled by the left side and  the muscles of left side are controlled by right side  

Parietal lobe :

  • Located at the center part of the brain .
  • Helps in recognises the warmth,cold,pain and touch

Temporal lobe :

  • Located behind the ears.  
  • Process the sensory information, related for  recognising language,forming memories and  hearing

Occipital lobe  :

  • Located at rearmost portion of skull .
  • Main center for visual processing.  
  • The processed  visual informations are sent to the temporal lobes and parietal lobes for further processing.
