In prehistoric time, Kansas was covered by the ocean from the evidence of sea creatures found in Kansas rocks years later such as oysters, sharks, and other fishes. The lake was a natural habitat for most plants, sea birds, huge fishes, and other water reptiles.
Some of the water animals found in Kansas in the Mesozoic era include the Tylosaurus which was a fish-like reptile that had a length of 40 feet. Due to its build and structure, it was deadly and very dangerous to the other sea animals.
