He schemed his plan of escape the submarine for few monthes. He forms a friendship with Conseil and wanted somehow to steal artifacts. Also he teaches few tricks Nemo's pet Esmeralda. But something goes wrong when Nautilius is attacked by a giant squid. Ned crashes his cell and gets few injuries. Suddenly he saves Nemo takes artifacts and surprisingly captain rewards him by giving freedom.
