Wind isn’t an external force that acts in the rock cycle.

Pressure is not an external force that acts on rocks in the rock cycle. This is

because pressure acts within the rock particles thereby resulting in the

formation of other types.

Pressure is common in rocks which are buried deeply into the earth. There

is usually little or no external interference such as the following:

  • Wind
  • Ice
  • Water

The pressure often results in compression and melting where there is a

corresponding high temperature within the area.
