Land Reclamation is a artificial or man made island and these may vary from size to size as it is generally reclaimed to support a single pillar of a building or a structure. These artificial islands include floating structures which are constructed on the still water and are usually made of wooden erected things. This method can be achieved by the application of various and different methods.  

The most simple method of land reclamation involves the filling of that area with large amount of heavy rocks and cements and this process is followed by the filling of the clay and dirt and it is done till the time the desired height is achieved. The most recent example of land reclamation or artificial island is Palm Islands. This is group of three artificial islands situated at the coast of Dubai. These islands are made in shape of palm tree and hosts many residential societies, entertainment centers etc.
