This condition occurs when a cell is placed in a solution, isotonic to its protoplasm or we say it occurs when concentration of solution and protoplasm is same.

Here the cell and the medium are in equilibrium as no net exchange of water takes place.

Cell in this condition is called FLACCID, and the condition is referred to an ISOTONIC condition.
