What were the main motives for the conquistadors

So, if you look at the name "conquistadors" it derives from the word "conquer".  They wanted to do just that - conquer whatever came into their path.  As well as along the way, for themselves to get wealthy and gain more power. They conquistadors were all about gaining power, control and fortune.
