Once the Europeans managed to reach the Americas, they were merciless toward the native population. They immediately started to engage into wars with them, take their land, push them away, destroy their civilization. This of course resulted in decimation of the native populations and rapid loss of their culture. If this was not the case though, and the technologically superior Europeans were not aggressive toward the natives, but instead collaborated with them and had good relations, the situation would have been much different. For starters it would have been a nice example that the countries that have superior technology should not use it to destroy other civilizations, but instead help them prosper and develop. The native populations would have been in much greater numbers, would have preserved their culture, and would have developed rapidly. It has to be mentioned though that there were still going to be great losses in the native populations because of the spread of diseases, but still not in such great extent as with all other factors included.
