Which of these statements about heterochromatin are TRUE?-Heterochromatin is found in the telomeres and centromere.-Heterochromatin remains relatively condensed (tightly coiled) during the cell cycle.-Heterochromatin has relatively few genes.

Respuesta :

all of them because they have to work together in order to do its job

All of the statements about heterochromatin are true.

What is heterochromatin ?

Heterochromatin is a densely packed form of chromatin found in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells.

It is present in a condensed form that it is unable to enable DNA and RNA polymerases to access the DNA, and does not involve in DNA replication and transcription.

It can be further condensed into active chromosomes and even further into metaphase chromosomes.

Heterochromatin occupies only 10% of the human chromatin, where as  euchromatin occupies over 90% of the chromatin.

The two main types are Constitutive heterochromatin,  the stable form which contain repeated sequences of satellite DNA.

It is present in centromeres and telomeres and involved in structural functions.

On the other hand, Facultative heterochromatin, contain  repeated DNA sequences known as LINE sequences.

Thus, All of the statements about heterochromatin are true.
