Write a short dialogue in Spanish between you and your new Spanish instructor in complete sentences. Use the vocabulary from this lesson and the following suggestions as a guide for your answer.

Greet and state your name in one sentence (e.g., Good morning, my name is …).

Ask your instructor his or her name in one sentence (e.g., What is your name? formal).

Have your instructor reply in one sentence what his/her name is (e.g., My name is…). (put a blank space here)

Let your instructor know you're glad to meet him or her in one sentence/expression (e.g., Nice meeting you, sir).

Give a farewell (e.g., Goodbye).

Hint: Remember to use the formal format when taking to an adult or a person whom you just met or do not know very well yet.

Here, I made up a short conversation between a student and his Spanish teacher following the requirements from the activity, also maintaining formality in the conversation.

In Spanish, we speak in a formal manner when addressing older people, or people we are not familiar with as a sign of respect, and we use the pronoun Usted.

Estudiante: Buenos días, me gustaría presentarme, mi nombre es Juan. Como se llama usted?

(Student: Good morning, I would like to introduce myself, mi name is Juan. What is your name?)

Profesor: Encantado de conocerlo Juan. Mi nombre es Martín

(Teacher: Pleased to meet you Juan. My name is Martín)

Estudiante: Mucho gusto profesor Martín, encantado de conocerlo también.

(Student: It's a pleasure teacher Martin, nice to meet you too.)

Profesor: Su español es muy bueno

(Teacher: Your Spanish is very good)

Estudiante: Gracias, espero seguir mejorando mucho mi español en sus clases. Adiós, y que tenga muy buen día.

(Student: Thank you, I hope to continue improving my Spanish in your classes. Goodbye and have a great day)

Profesor: Adiós, que tenga buen día también

(Teacher: Goodbye, have a nice day as well)
