Answer:

Beacsue iron's melting point is more than steel's melting point. Also, The inner core's temperature is about 12,600 degrees Fahrenheit which means that the pressure of the other top layers pushing down on it and the heat combined will crush the metal if it is steel. Which is why the crust is made up of a mizture of both iron and sulfer.
