a). When electromagnetic wave interacts with a material, mainly three phenomena occurs. They are :
i. Reflection
ii.Transmission
iii. Absorption
Reflection : Reflection of light occurs when light bounches back when it is incident on an object. In other words all or some part of the incident light returns back into the medium after striking the surface.
Transmission : Light is said to be transmitted through the object if the object is not opaque and all or some parts of the light easily passes through it.
Absorption : Incident light is said to be absorbed in the material when some part of the light is neither reflected nor it is transmitted wholely through the material but gets absorbed in it.

c). Example of reflection : When light falls on a mirror, the light gets reflected back and this is the reason why we can see our self on the mirror. Eg looking mirror
Example of transmission : In nature light can pass through the object completely so that the objects appears not be opaque. eg glass
Example of absorption : The incident light stops at the object surface and does not reflect or refract. And then the object appears opaque or dark.. eg wood
