The "Glorious Revolution" was carried out in 1688, in order to overthrow King James II.
It should be noted that this was considered a rebellion of the people and its leaders against the king. The cause of this was that James II, wanted to modify the traditional order of government of England and impose on the Anglican Church, on Parliament, on judges and on the Army the royal authority and the Catholic religion (which was not the national religion).
At the end of this revolution, the system of absolute monarchy in England was ended with the overthrow of James II by a union of Parliamentarians and the Dutch aristocrat William of Orange. Inaugurating in this way, what would be the origin of the current British parliamentary democracy.
