The American side of the falls is located in New York with the "American Falls" and the smaller ones, the "Bridal Veil Falls", while the Canadian side is in Ontario with the "Canadian Falls" also known as "Horseshoe Falls".
It should be noted that these impressive waterfalls were formed in the last Earth glaciation and the water that flows through them comes from four large lakes and then flows down the Niagara River to Lake Ontario, following the St. Lawrence River to empty into the Atlantic Ocean .
