There are actually four states of matter. The three main ones are solids, liquids and gasses. The fourth one is called plasma.
Solids have a definite shape and volume.
Liquids have a definite volume but not shape.
Gas doesn’t have a definite volume or shape.
Plasma is like gas but made of electricity charged particles and very hot.
