Mr. C just wrote a 35-problem test for his math class. He wants some of the problems to be worth two points each while the rest will be worth three points each. If the test must be worth a total of 100 points, how many of each type of problem (two point and three point) should Mr.C have?

Respuesta :

Let the problem with two points be x and problem with 3 points be y.

Then,

x+y=35 and 2x+3y=100

Solving the above equations,

x=5

y=30

No. of problem with 2 points are 5 and no. of problems with 3 points are 30.
