Animals living in small family units are lions. These small families can move with a larger group of up to 40 members. A larger group contains related families, i.e. relatives, otherwise it may happen that some of the dominant lions, the group leader kill the cubs if they find out they are not from that extended family. There is a clear division of duties in such a group, where lionesses  go hunting and provide food, while the lions guard the territory and defend a group of nomadic lions. It is interesting to see, in these social and family animals, that when a lioness is about to give a birth to the cubs, leaving and separated from the group. A few weeks after birth, the lioness is alone with cubs, and only after that she joins the group with the cubs and introduces them to the other members.
