If there is a decline in the number of trees that hold the woodpeckers food supply then the number of woodpeckers would also decline due to the amount of food resource
Answer: The food for the red-cockaded woodpecker was the insects found on the bark and nest of the pine trees.
The reduction in the amount of the trees will ultimately reduce the amount of food( resources) for the red-cockaded woodpecker.
If the food will decrease then over a period of time the number of red-cockaded woodpecker will also decrease.
