I personally am affected much because the reform movements led to today's life. The technology, intelligence, and architecture all began way back. But the 1800s really picked up speed and got much work in. We wouldn't be here on a electronic device answering and asking questions if it weren't for the discoveries and technological advances of past times. Although there was slavery, mistreatment, plagues, and much hardships, we pushed through as one species and conquered some of our greatest problems. It really is an awesome thing to think about.
