We have the following data:

m (mass) = 0.25 kg

v (velocity) = 2 m/s

KE (kinetic Energy) = ? (in Joule)

Formula to calculate kinetic energy:

Solving:  

[tex]KE = \dfrac{1}{2} *m*v^2[/tex]

[tex]KE = \dfrac{1}{2} *0.25*2^2[/tex]

[tex]KE = \dfrac{1}{2} *0.25*4[/tex]

[tex]KE = \dfrac{1}{2}*1[/tex]

[tex]KE = \dfrac{1}{2}[/tex]
