You could apply the difference of two squares rule

Square root 100 to get 10

The factored version would be:

(x + 10)(x - 10)

Test it out:

It will expand to x^2 + 10x - 10x - 100

As you can see, the '10x' will cancel out, leaving x^2 - 100 which suggests it is correct
