He made a friend named Shmeul and he wanted to help find “papa” but soon ended up dressing up and finding himself in a march with the other Jews and ended up deceased moments after but his body was never discovered by his parents so his parents went looking for him (in the movie) and the Germans ended up gassing the Jews and killing both Bruno and Shmeul.
