The sand would cool faster. The ocean water remains consistently the same and will even affect the weather, like cooling the air at night, while the sand is heated up by the sun during the day and will cool at night. The ocean of the temperature is only affected by the overall warming of the earth (#globalwarming yo) when the ice caps melt resulting is water rise and hotter ocean temperatures. :)
