"Heat", by Hilda Doolittle, is a short poem that speaks about the effects of really strong heat on the speaker. It has several characteristics that make it unique, aside from being really short. All we know is that there is a lot of heat and that it must be somewhere tropical because of the mention of fruits falling from trees. Not much else is known. One of them is hyperbole, in order to create imagery, which is the end goal. But it also uses a lot of alliteration.
