People are sympathetic to dogs because rid their kind loving nature. Dogs don't talk back, Dogs sit there and listen to you, and even when you have some of your most embarrassing moments Dogs keep everything a secret. They are pure adorable creatures. They are particularly endearing to humans because of how passive yet energetic they are.
Because dogs are loyal to us we have sympathy for them. Also much like us dogs have emotions they can feel sad, happy, stressed, etc.
