Members of Congress accused W.E.B Du Bois of inciting race riots while all he is doing is demanding human rights for blacks in America. In his words, Du Bois says "Make way for Democracy! We saved it in France, and by the Great Jehovah, we will save it in the United States of America, or know the reason why?". While many whites and members of Congress saw this as inciting race riots. It was a call to attention that borders, to some, on a call to arms.
