The speech delivered by Abraham Lincoln in the year 1863 was dedicated to the soldiers killed in the Battle of Gettysburg during the American Civil War. Lincoln acknowledged the sacrifice given by the soldiers. He praises the soldiers that their deaths did not go worthless. He said: “The world will little note nor long remember what we say here but it can never forget what they did here.” This Address is now recognized as one of Lincoln’s greatest speeches and as one of the most famous speeches in U.S. history.
