Scientific notation is just a form of the number:
And the format is:
(A number greater than 1 but less than 10) times (10 to the power of x) ,where x can be positive or negative, but not a fraction or decimal
When you write something in scientific notation, it is written in single digit form (the following numbers are in decimal form going lower in order) multiplied by 10 to the power of however much places (0’s) are added to the right. Once it gets into negative exponents 0’s are added to the left. Once it is done you make a decimal point and add another 0 than the exponent. In this you start with the number farthest to the left in the number being multiplied to 10 by a power. Hope this helps :)
