In the period after the WWI, a coin was created for all young people who grew up in the war or participated in it, "lost generation". All those who witnessed all the horrors of war, in the post-war years, felt a lack of motivation, lack of interest in reality and its cruel principles, which were especially pronounced in post-war years. Thus, social criticism is expressed in art, the emphasis is on destructive phenomena and the consequences of the war, surrealism, they arise. National snitiment has been abolished, cynicism, black humor, sense of betrayal, loss, pacifism and rage have appeared as dominant feelings in works of art.
