Answer: The hares live in the desert. They have an exposure of extremely hot temperatures and this is the reason that hares have special adaptation for surviving in hot temperatures. They have large ears with higher number of blood vessels.
When the temperature of the surrounding environment is slightly less than the temperature of hare's body as when it moves from a hot place to a shady place, the blood vessels on the outer part of the ear widen which is called as vasodilation.
This results in loss of heat from the body through ears due to cooling surrounding.
