The virtues of the past,
Nurtured so they last,
In a way that only one’s self can comprehend.
When the canvas was rect,
One drew, right or left?
The verdicts had repercussions.
The drawings left trails
Like the path of a snail
That life’s manner of operating will indicate
Society is the same
A relentless and cruel game
With critics, but one can only mitigate.
A ship only sinks
If it allows for itself to take a drink
But there are always options to overcome
The virtues of the past,
Nurtured so they last,
Can be understood by more than one.

—-several metaphors about life and how ones Past and experiences determine where what path they head to (the canvas) People and life will point out the past and there will be moments of regret. The situations is exemplified by the scenario about the boat, which is about persevering. The last part is basically that there is always a solution, and there can be help and comfort. Ones problems can always be solved. There is a simile with the snail, personification in the part of life and the boat, and it rhymes. :) ——

love, what is love,

is such as a dove?

is it like a great Gail,

or raining down like hail?

no, I think not.

love is wrought

from iron and bone,

to sharpen and hone

our senses like ice,

caught in a trice.

our hearts of fire,

lit with our ire

to forever burn,

and others in turn.
