Well, El Niño is the warmer phase of ENSO. El Niño occurs more often than its colder counterpart, La Nina. The effects of El Niño are:

- Temperature changes,

- Precipitation changes,

- Storm track changes and intensity,

- Alteration of currents and ocean temperature.

Now, there are secondary effects, which include:

- Fires,

- Drought,

- Flooding,

-Economic changes,

-price of heating, food, etc.,

-Political and social unrest,

-Crash of fisheries,

-Famine,

-Plagues (hanta virus),

-Insect population explosion leading to disease and plagues,

-and Crop failure
