URGENT I WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST
Farmer Dantzler brings her prize pig, Penny, to the annual country fair. If the mass of the pig is 140 kg, what is the weight? (What are you solving for? What is your formula? What unit do you use to represent weight? YOU CAN DO IT!) Your answer: A.14 g B.140 N C. 1400 kg D. 1372 N

Please show me how to work it too

Respuesta :

Weight : It is the gravitational attraction force on an object near its surface.

It is always measured in the unit of Newton(N)

it is given by the product of mass and acceleration due to gravity

[tex]W = mg[/tex]

here we know that mass of the pig is m = 140 kg

also we know that acceleration due to gravity near the surface of earth is approximately g = 9.8 m/s/s

so here we know by above formula

[tex]W = (140 kg)(9.8 m/s^2)[/tex]

[tex]W = 1372 N[/tex]

so correct answer will be

D. 1372 N
