Evidence at a crime scene should always be recorded before any objects are collected or removed, because they should record as much information as they can about the scene, before the investigators begin examining the scene of the crime. The method of documentation should be slow and methodical. Information is collected to avoid destruction of valuable and fragile evidence. Once all of the information is obtained, a mental plan is formulated to see how the crime scene will be analyzed.
