1) The Baltimore Plot (February 23, 1861) was a conspiracy to assassinate President-elect Abraham Lincoln en route to his inauguration.
2) On August 1864 an undiscovered sniper´s shot missed Lincoln's head by inches. It happened as Lincoln was riding unguarded, north from the White House to the Soldiers' Home.
