ELIE WIESEL’S “THE PERILS OF INDIFFERENCE” SPEECH How do paragraphs 15-16 contribute to the development of the text’s central idea?

Respuesta :

In his speech "The Perils of Indifference", Elie Wiesel claims that indifference is not the point of departure, but the final step. According to Wiesel, the indifference is favorable to the enemy. The paragraphs 15-16 contribute to the development of the central idea since Wiesel refers to the Holocaust in Auschwitz by saying, in an ironic way of course, that if governments of other countries in the world would have known what was happening to Jews under the ruling of Hitler, they would have helped them. Obviously, the whole world knew the situation but no one did anything to avoid so many deaths. Those are "The Perils of Indifference".
