The three roles of RNA in protein synthesis. Messenger RNA (mRNA) is translated into protein by the joint action of transfer RNA (tRNA) and the ribosome, which is composed of numerous proteins and two major ribosomal RNA (rRNA) molecules.
The translation is a biological process in which cells produces protein by using the genetic data transported in the messenger RNA (mRNA). RNA is the single-stranded molecule made up of the sugar molecule called ribose and the phosphate groups.
There are different types of RNA present, they are messenger RNA(mRNA), ribosome (rRNA), transfer (tRNA).
The type of RNA involved in translation is tRNA,mRNA, rRNA.
- mRNA or the messenger RNA is used as base sequence and gets translated into the codons, which are three base in the form of triplet.
- tRNA or the translational RNA is the main constituent of translation. it transfers the amino acids in the correct order during the process of protein synthesis.
- rRNA or the ribosomal RNA are carried to the cytoplasm where it helps in the translating of the information from mRNA into the proteins.
Therefore, mRNA, rRNA, tRNA are the types of RNA that are involved in the process of translation.
