Answer: The median is 18, the lower quartile is 11.5 or 11 1/2, and the upper quartile is 25.

Step-by-step explanation: The definition of median is the middle of an equation. Following that definition we need to find the middle of the numbers. Since they are already in order all we have to do is cross out the first number and the last number, continuing until we get to one last number. In this situation we have an even amount of numbers so, we have to find the mean of the two numbers in the middle. The two numbers in the middle were 17 and 19. When you add them together you get 36 and divide it by 2 and you get 18. Now everything on the left of 18 is the lower quartile and everything to the right is the upper quartile. All we have to do is find the medium of the lower and upper quartile. They are both even so we will have to find the mean again. For the lower quartile you have to find the mean of 11 and 12. When you add 11 and 12 you get 23 and divide that by 2 and you get 11.5 or 11 1/2. For the upper quartile you have to find the mean of 25 and 25.
