The battle of Saratoga was a turning point in the American Revolution simply because, with their defeat of the British, the colonists showed that they were willing to fight for their freedom, and because of this, they won the support of European allies, like France and Spain. France later proved to be essential at the Battle of Yorktown because it was the French fleet that blocked in Cornwallis' troops, preventing him from escape, which of course caused him to surrender, ending the Revolution.
It evoked a wave of European allies.
Because the Americans won making it's allies like the French to support them even more in up coming battles. I think, hope this helps.
