Conscience is a gift from God to help us determine right and wrong, and ignoring it will result in it growing silent.
Conscience is the voice in our heads advising us to choose the ethical way to go about our life. Sometimes the morally correct option may not be the most practical one, or end up giving us the expected results; however, it will most likely be the fairest manner to conduct oneself. We can always choose to ignore our conscience using our free will, but we should just as willingly then be prepared to face any consequences our less than optimal choices may have.
