William Lloyd Garrison (1805-1879) was an American journalist that was against slavery supported abolition. In 1830 he decided to found the paper "The Liberator," and two years later he helped to form the Anti-Slavery Society in New England. Garrison also opposed to the annexation of Texas and the war with Mexico. WIth Frederick Douglass, a former slave, he wrote many speeches against slavery.
