The Hongwu Emperor (September 21, 1328 – June 24, 1398) whose real name was Zhu Yuanzhang (Chu Yüan-chang) was the founder and first emperor of the Míng Dynasty that ruled China for nearly three hundred years.

He worked for the welfare of people when china was lying under great economic and agricultural depression.
