The Articles of Confederation did not address all of the aspects of government that we consider relevant nowadays. In fact, it was extremely ambiguous in many issues. One of the things that the Articles failed to consider was a national court system. Each state was free to interpret and administer federal statues as they pleased. Disputes were therefore difficult to solve. In 1788, Alexander Hamilton proposed the creation of a national court that could solve disputes between states. A few years later, the court system that we know was created.
