This is the world's coldest biome. It receives only 6-10 inches of precipitation p year and has a permanently frozen layer of earth called permafrost. The soil is nutrient-poor with very little vegetation.
Tundras are the coldest places in the world and are located far north, around the arctic circle, and incorporates countries such as Finland, Russia, Alaska, and others.
