If the mass of an object increases, the coeficient of sliding friction will increase because there is more wieght over the surface where the object is standing and it is going to be harder to pull or push it.

Picture you were sliding a small heavy box across the floor, verses a bigger lighter box which was still the same weight, which would be easier to move? The big box, so the sliding friction decreases.
