Bonjour
Don't know if you want an answer in French or English ....
1- The author is teaching us that we've got to work for our future. BUT, you also have to help when someone is in need.
2- Yes, I like this "fable" because it's so representative of our everyday life. We've got to work but never forget those who need help, winter is coming, Homeless people are going to suffer from cold, and the fewest we can do will still be a lot !!! A smile is a lot, as a cup of coffee and 5mn just saying "hello', a sadwich, or any blanket you don't need anymore. But just looking at them, say "hello" ; have a "5mn talk with a hot drink" is a lot to them .. and nothing to us. I mean so little compare to what you can sometimes bring them. They're so used to be anonymous, as they were noone
One or two references =
homeless people dying every winter
political or economical refugees, among them lots of teenagers (I'm talking about Europe)
people who don't get paid enough to have a decent home. They live in their cars, or in unhealthy buildings... which owners are called in France "marchands de sommeil' (slum landlords)
You'll never know what wil tomororrow will be made of ..........
I've met people in France, homeless people whose lives have been destroyed........ I won't say more (because it's private) but it can happen, to every one
